  • How do I select a meal plan?
All Barnard students are required to be on a meal plan. Selection is defaulted by the Bursars office.
First years are auto-enrolled in the Platinum Plan.
Upper Class Students residing in Barnard quad are auto-enrolled in the Quad Plan.
Upper-class and commuters residing off campus are auto-enrolled in the Flex 100 Plan but may opt into any other plans. Meal Plan Changes must be completed by the student in my.barnard.edu under the Student Services tab.

  • Will my meal plan auto renew for next semester?
You will be defaulted into the minimum plan for your residence hall/commuter status each semester.  Your fall meal plan does not roll over to the spring. If you would like to switch, you will need to make the selection during the first four days with the Bursar.

  • Will unused meals or Dining Dollars roll over?
Meal plans expire at the end of the semester.

  • If I have already purchased a meal plan, can I change it?
You have until the 4th day of the semester to change your meal plan.
  • What are DINING DOLLARS (DDs) and how are they different from POINTS?
DDs are funds that can be used at Barnard or Columbia campus dining facilities. They also have a dollar for dollar value; 1 DD
equals $1. They do not come with any Barnard Meal Plan. You may purchase DDs through Dining at Barnard, located in Hewitt
Hall, or through the Dining Customer Service Center, located in Hartley Room #18 on the Columbia campus, in increments of $25.
PLEASE NOTE: DDs will carry over from year to year as long as you remain a students at Barnard or Columbia. They will not
carry over at the end of your senior year
Don’t worry - simplicity and convenience are all within reach. Once you have a meal plan, your student ID works like a debit card. Just swipe your card and the meals and points are deducted from your meal plan account.
